Buenos Aires has a semi tropical climate that affords for flowers in my yard year around. These photos are from this past spring and now late summer): . Spring we have Star Jasmine, Magnolia Bougainvillea, Camilas, Wisteria and my personal favorite, Gardenia. Summer brings Roses, Day Lilly, Dalia and Agapanthus. In Fall, the tropical flowers like the Bird of Paradise and Hibiscus make an appearance (hibiscus is really almost year around). In winter the Orange and Lemon trees are so fruit laden that branches can break. And all of this flower glory happens with minimal effort. A bit of pruning and loosening the earth at the roots and these trees don’t disappoint. While one of the things I am most looking forward to my return in New England are the seasons and the spring bulbs and abundant summer perennials, I will miss my garden that never is without a flower, for even a day.
