Every year we set up a temporary camp along the river. A place to have cookouts, a swim and we set up a tent for overnights. The last few years we had a perfect spot across our river channel on the island. This year when we went to set up Tevez ran into a herd of bulls. He is a herder and they didn’t like being herded and when we saw various bull digging there feet and presenting their horns we abandoned the campsite never looking back.
This year we have settled closer to home. One day Georgie said,”When I was little I always dreamed of having a treehouse.” Well Georgie, your dream may be reality. I say may because despite your Daddy wanting to fulfill your dreams, he is not the handiest man around. That is where Mila comes in. Mila is the most overqualified nanny/nutritionist/elite athlete and graduate student you can imagine. But for some reason she loves to come here to help me with the kids and some of the less glamorous cooking. She is lovely, kind, smart and handy. Here is some the progress to date. Supplies have been purchased at the lumberyard (apparently not enough nails). A frame has been devised and it’s starting to look like something.
I will update later.
